Maybe in Another Life (Review)

“I know there may be universes out there where I made different choices and they led me somewhere else, led me to someone else. And my heart breaks for every single version of me that didn't end up with you.”
Maybe in Another Life, 2015

Don't think twice before picking up Taylor's book because you won't regret it, she is worth the hype. The story revolves around the life of a twenty-nine years old, Hannah Martin, who jumps from one place to another in search of a home. The book has alternative realities where the choices of every character in the book leads them to a different reality and while some might be lucky enough to end up with the same person, some are not. "Maybe in Another Life" isn't just a story, it is a book you can devour, and experience the roller coaster life of the "hurricane Hannah" as she likes to call herself, but aren't we all a mess in one way or another? It's not about surviving, it's about living and finding a person who makes you feel like "you can just tell that they are the one for you", because after all, home isn't just a place, it's a person with whom you set down roots. Don't fall in love just because you're lonely or heartbroken or think that this is the person you deserve, or this is the love you deserve. Don't settle for anything less because "you are the kind of person who deserves a fuss made over her." —Ethan Hanover (pg 223)

Overall, the book is worth the read, in fact, all of Taylor Jenkins Reid books are worth the read, though I've only read two, "Maybe in Another Life" and "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo", I'm planning to buy more of her books in near future (because I'm broke right now and yet I can't stop myself from buying more books). If you're into Women's fiction, Romance, Contemporary Romance, or if you're going through a phase in life where you can't figure out what you want and aren't sure of your decisions, do pick up this book, it will be refreshing. And also remember there is no such thing as right or wrong decisions after all we are humans and we can't take perfect decisions all the time and no one really knows what a perfect decision is. So, whatever decisions you make, if you're not happy just know that it's not the end and life has something else for you in the store, something better that is worth the wait and a reason for you to keep moving forward in life.

Whatever you are going through, just know that you're not alone and though it might seem like we're all doomed, we will make it out alive because we always find a way to survive, as human beings, we are born with survival instincts. Make sure you surround yourself with people like Gabby, the optimistic and feminist kind, who can be your backbone and wouldn't think twice before jumping in to save you from drowning.

Have a nice day!
